You can bring and use VIVE Eagle on an airplane, but you must follow your airline’s policies for electronic devices and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. VIVE Eagle includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, so it should not be packed in checked luggage.
Before You Fly
Before traveling with VIVE Eagle:
- Review your airline's policies for electronic devices containing lithium-ion batteries.
- Keep VIVE Eagle with you in your carry-on baggage rather than checked luggage.
- Charge the glasses before your flight if you plan to use them during travel. VIVE Eagle can be charged using the included charging cable and a compatible USB power source.
What You Can Do on a Plane
Some VIVE Eagle features can be used directly on the glasses. For example, you can take photos and record videos using the built-in controls.
Using VIVE AI During a Flight
VIVE AI features depend on a connection between VIVE Eagle and the VIVE Connect app, and your phone must have internet access.
Keep the following in mind:
- For tasks that use VIVE AI, connect VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect on your phone.
- Your phone must have internet access for VIVE AI features to function.
- Network quality can affect VIVE AI performance.
If in-flight internet is unavailable or restricted, some AI-powered features may not be available until your phone regains internet connectivity.
Managing Photos and Videos After Landing
After your flight, you can connect VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect and import photos and videos captured during your trip. Imported media can be managed within VIVE Connect, and you can optionally save copies to your phone’s photo library.

- Always follow crew instructions and airline policies regarding electronic device use during all phases of flight.
- Because VIVE Eagle contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, do not place it in checked baggage.
