Using voice commands with VIVE AI on VIVE Eagle

Learn how to use voice commands with VIVE AI on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses, including wake words, supported commands, requirements, and troubleshooting tips.

VIVE AI lets you interact with your VIVE Eagle using natural voice commands. After saying the wake word, you can ask VIVE AI to perform tasks such as taking photos, recording videos, translating text, reading text aloud, saving memories, and identifying objects or locations.

Before you begin

Make sure the following requirements are met:

  • Your VIVE Eagle has completed its initial setup and voice training process. During setup, you'll train VIVE AI to recognize your voice and activate it with a wake word.
  • For most VIVE AI features, your phone must be connected to the internet and your VIVE Eagle must be connected to the VIVE Connect app.
  • On Android devices, ensure that Use Gemini without unlocking is enabled in the Gemini app. On iPhone, ensure that Allow Siri When Locked is enabled in your iPhone settings.

Note: You can use voice commands to take photos and record videos even when VIVE Eagle is disconnected from VIVE Connect. Other VIVE AI commands generally require a connected phone and internet access.

Use a voice command

  1. Say the wake word configured for VIVE AI.
  2. Wait for VIVE AI to start listening.
  3. Speak your command.

When VIVE AI is listening, the status LED blinks continuously white.

Common voice commands

Capture a photo

Say:

"Take a photo"

You can also use variations such as:

  • "Take photo"
  • "Take a picture"

Record a video

Say:

"Record a video"

Other supported variations include:

  • "Record"
  • "Take video"
  • "Take a video"

To stop recording, say:

"Stop recording"

Save a memory

Say:

"Remember this"

You can also use commands such as:

  • "Memorize the..."
  • "Remember the..."
  • "Save the..."

To recall saved memories, try:

  • "What's on my memory?"
  • "What did I save this week?"

Translate text

While looking at text, say:

"Translate this"

VIVE AI can translate text you are viewing through the smart glasses.

Read text aloud

While looking at text, say:

"Read this"

Additional examples include:

  • "Read this for me"
  • "What does this say?"
  • "Tell me what this says without summarizing"

Learn about what you're viewing

You can ask VIVE AI to analyze what is in front of you.

Examples:

  • "Describe the area"
  • "What is this?"
  • "How is this place?"

These commands can provide information about scenes, objects, landmarks, and locations you are looking at.

Tips for better results

When asking VIVE AI about something you are viewing:

  • Keep the subject within the camera's field of view.
  • Make sure the area is well lit.
  • Avoid busy or cluttered backgrounds.

Using clear speech and natural phrasing can also improve recognition accuracy.

Use Follow-up mode

Follow-up mode allows you to continue a conversation with VIVE AI without repeating the wake word after every response. Once VIVE AI answers a question, it can continue listening for additional commands for a short period.

You can enable and configure Follow-up mode in the VIVE AI settings within VIVE Connect.

If voice commands aren't working

Try the following:

  • Confirm that VIVE Eagle is connected to the VIVE Connect app.
  • Verify that your phone has an active internet connection.
  • Ensure Gemini or Siri is configured correctly for your device.
  • Make sure Gemini or Siri is using the same language as VIVE Connect.
  • Restart your phone and try the command again.

If VIVE AI responds with connection-related errors, check your connectivity settings and confirm that VIVE Connect and your phone assistant are configured correctly.
