Follow-up mode on VIVE Eagle

Learn how to use Follow-up mode with VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses to ask additional questions and give commands without repeating the wake word.

Follow-up mode helps make conversations with VIVE AI feel more natural. After VIVE AI answers a question, it continues listening for a short period so you can ask another question or give a new command without saying the wake word again.

This feature is useful when you want to continue a conversation, refine a question, or request additional information without repeatedly reactivating VIVE AI.

How Follow-up mode works

When Follow-up mode is enabled, VIVE AI remains actively listening for a configurable period after it finishes responding. During this listening window, you can:

  • Ask a related follow-up question.
  • Provide another command.
  • Continue your conversation without repeating the wake word.

For example, after receiving an answer from VIVE AI, you can immediately ask another question and the conversation can continue as long as VIVE AI is still in its follow-up listening period.

Turn on Follow-up mode

To enable Follow-up mode:

  1. Connect your VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect.
  2. In VIVE Connect, go to Settings > VIVE AI > Follow-up mode.
  3. Turn on Follow-up mode.
  4. Select how long you want VIVE AI to keep listening after it responds.

Managing responses with the touchpad

While VIVE AI is responding, you can use touchpad gestures to control how Follow-up mode behaves.

Gesture Behavior
Tap once Skips the current response and stops listening for a follow-up prompt.
Double tap Skips the current response and continues listening for a follow-up prompt.

When to use Follow-up mode

Follow-up mode can be helpful when:

  • You expect to ask several questions in a row.
  • You want to clarify or expand on a previous answer.
  • You need to give multiple voice commands during a single interaction.
  • You want a more conversational experience with VIVE AI.

Additional notes

  • Follow-up mode only keeps VIVE AI listening for a short period after it responds.
  • The listening duration can be adjusted when configuring the feature in VIVE Connect.
  • If you tap the touchpad once to skip a response, VIVE AI stops listening for a follow-up prompt.
  • If you double tap the touchpad to skip a response, VIVE AI continues listening for a follow-up prompt.
