Learn how to identify and troubleshoot status LED patterns on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses, including power, pairing, charging, notification, and error indicators.
The status LED on VIVE Eagle helps you understand what the device is doing and can provide important clues when something is not working as expected. This guide explains common LED behaviors and the steps you can take to troubleshoot issues based on the LED pattern you see.
Before you begin
The status LED is located on the inner right side of the glasses. Different colors and blinking patterns indicate different operating states, connection states, battery conditions, and system events.
If you're troubleshooting an issue, observe:
- The LED color
- Whether the light is solid, pulsing, or blinking
- How often it blinks
- Whether the behavior changes after pressing a button or connecting a charger
These details can help identify the cause of the problem.
The LED stays on pulsing white and never starts flashing white
What it means
A pulsing white LED indicates that VIVE Eagle is powering on. During setup or pairing, it should eventually change to a flashing white pattern.
What to do
- Wait for the startup process to complete.
- If the LED remains pulsing white and never changes to flashing white, try restarting the glasses.
- If restarting does not help, enter service mode:
- Press and hold both the AI button and Capture button for about 12 seconds.
- Wait until the status LED changes to pulsing red.
- Press the Capture button five times quickly to perform a factory reset.
- Wait for the LED sequence:
- Flashing pink and white
- Pulsing white
- Flashing white
- Remove the existing Bluetooth pairing from your phone.
- Pair the glasses again using VIVE Connect.
Factory reset removes data stored on the glasses. Back up important content whenever possible before resetting.
The LED blinks red twice repeatedly
What it means
Two red blinks may indicate one of the following:
- Low battery
- Charging error
- Connection failure
What to do
- Connect the glasses to a charger.
- Verify that the charging cable is properly attached.
- Use a compatible USB charger.
- Wait several minutes and check whether the charging indicator changes to pink.
- If the issue occurs during pairing, restart both the phone and the glasses, then try pairing again.
The LED is continuously blinking red
What it means
A continuously blinking red LED during connection attempts indicates that the glasses failed to connect because the battery level is too low.
What to do
- Charge the glasses before attempting to connect again.
- Wait until sufficient battery power has been restored.
- Turn the glasses on and retry the connection.
The LED slowly blinks red while charging
What it means
The battery level is too low for the glasses to power on normally and the device is charging.
What to do
- Leave the glasses connected to the charger.
- Allow additional time for the battery to recover.
- Once the battery reaches a sufficient level, power on the glasses normally.
The glasses won't turn on and the LED is pulsing red
What it means
The device may be unresponsive or experiencing a battery-related issue.
What to do
- Remove the glasses if you are wearing them.
- Press and hold the AI button for approximately 12 seconds.
- Watch the status LED:
- If the red pulsing stops, wait for the device to restart.
- The LED should begin pulsing white during startup.
- If the red pulsing continues, perform a factory reset by pressing the Capture button five times quickly after releasing the AI button.
- If the issue persists, contact customer support.
The LED continuously flashes white
What it means
A continuously flashing white LED indicates that the glasses are searching for or waiting to connect to a paired device.
What to do
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- Open VIVE Connect.
- Move the glasses closer to the phone.
- Restart both devices if the connection does not occur automatically.
- If necessary, remove the existing pairing and pair the glasses again.
The LED flashes red during normal use
What it means
Two red flashes during operation may indicate:
- A system error
- An overheating condition
What to do
- Stop using the glasses temporarily.
- Move to a cooler environment.
- Allow the device to cool down naturally.
- Restart the glasses after several minutes.
- If the warning continues to occur, submit feedback and diagnostic logs through VIVE Connect and contact customer support.
The LED keeps blinking white and pink
What it means
Alternating white and pink flashes indicate one of the following:
- Firmware update in progress
- Factory reset in progress
What to do
- Do not press buttons or disconnect power while the LED is flashing white and pink.
- Wait for the process to complete.
- Restart the glasses if necessary after the operation finishes.
When to contact support
Contact VIVE Support if:
