Learn how to turn VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses on and off using the AI button, understand power status indicators, and safely manage device power for everyday use.
Turning your VIVE Eagle on and off helps conserve battery life and ensures the device is ready when you need it. VIVE Eagle uses the AI button as its power control and provides visual feedback through the status LED during startup and shutdown.
Before you begin
- Make sure VIVE Eagle has sufficient battery power.
- Locate the AI button on the left temple of the glasses. The AI button also functions as the device power button.
Turn on VIVE Eagle
- Press and hold the AI button for 2 seconds.
- Release the button when the status LED begins pulsing white.
- Wait for the startup process to complete.
When VIVE Eagle is powering on:

| White LED fades in and out continuously | VIVE Eagle is powering on |
| White LED fades in for 3 seconds and then turns off | VIVE Eagle is ready to use |
Turn off VIVE Eagle
- Press and hold the AI button for 5 seconds.
- Release the button when the shutdown process begins.
- Wait for the device to power off completely.
When VIVE Eagle is powering off:

Turn off VIVE Eagle using VIVE Connect
If your smart glasses are connected to the VIVE Connect app, you can power them off from your phone:
- Open VIVE Connect.
- Tap the Settings icon.
- Tap General.
- Tap the Power icon.
- Tap Turn off.
VIVE Connect sends a power-off command to VIVE Eagle when the device is connected.
Verify that VIVE Eagle is on
After startup is complete:
- The status LED briefly indicates the device is ready.
- You can use the device's features and controls normally.
- If paired with your phone, VIVE Eagle can connect automatically through VIVE Connect.
Troubleshooting
VIVE Eagle won't turn on
If VIVE Eagle does not respond when you press the AI button:
- Charge the device using the supplied charging cable.
- Try turning it on again by pressing and holding the AI button for 2 seconds.
- Check the status LED for battery-related indications.
A slowly blinking red status LED while charging indicates the battery is too low to power on.
The device is unresponsive
If VIVE Eagle stops responding:
- First try restarting the device.
- Turn the device off by holding the AI button for 5 seconds, then turn it back on by holding the AI button for 2 seconds.
- If the device remains unresponsive, perform a force restart by pressing and holding the AI button for approximately 12 seconds.
