Learn how to take photos using the capture button on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses. This guide explains photo capture requirements, privacy protections, and where to find your photos after they are taken on VIVE Eagle.
You can quickly capture photos with VIVE Eagle using the dedicated capture button on the glasses. This lets you take photos from your point of view without needing to use voice commands or open the companion app.
Before you begin
To protect privacy, VIVE Eagle will not take photos in the following situations:
- The capture LED is covered.
- The glasses are not being worn.
The capture LED is a built-in privacy feature that helps notify people nearby when camera functions are being used.
Take a photo
- Put on your VIVE Eagle glasses.
- Make sure the capture LED is not obstructed.
- Press the capture button on the right temple of the glasses.
When a photo is successfully captured, the status LED blinks once to indicate that the photo has been taken.
Improve indoor photo quality
If you are taking photos indoors and notice flickering caused by indoor lighting, you can enable flicker reduction in VIVE Connect:
- Connect VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect.
- Go to Settings > General > Advanced > Flicker reduction.
- Select Automatic, or manually choose your region's power frequency if known.
Automatic flicker reduction can help reduce visible flicker in indoor photos.
Receive blurry photo warnings
You can configure VIVE Eagle to warn you when a photo may be blurry because the glasses moved during capture.
- Connect VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect.
- Go to Settings > Media.
- Turn on Glasses movement warning.
Access your photos
Photos taken with VIVE Eagle are stored on the glasses until they are imported to VIVE Connect on your phone.
To import your photos:
- Connect VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect.
- Make sure that your Wi-Fi setting is enabled on the phone.
- Tap the Media menu icon. It will have a notification indicator on the icon if new media is detected on the VIVE Eagle.
- Tap the import icon on the notification at the top of the Media screen.
- Tap Import to import the new media from the glasses.
Imported photos can then be managed within VIVE Connect, and you can optionally save copies to your phone's photo library.
