Learn how to record videos with the capture button on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses. This guide explains how to start and stop video recording, privacy indicator requirements, and important recording behavior on VIVE Eagle smart glasses.
You can quickly record videos on VIVE Eagle using the dedicated capture button on the glasses. This method lets you start and stop video recordings without opening the VIVE Connect app.
Before you begin
To protect the privacy of people around you, VIVE Eagle includes built-in safeguards for video capture:
- You must be wearing the glasses.
- The capture LED must be visible and unobstructed.
- Video recording cannot start if the capture LED is covered or if the glasses are not being worn. The capture LED serves as a privacy indicator to notify others when recording is in progress.
Start recording a video
- Wear your VIVE Eagle glasses.
- Press and hold the capture button on the right temple for approximately 2 seconds.
- Recording starts automatically.
How to know recording has started
When a video is being recorded:
- The capture LED remains active to indicate that recording is in progress.
- The status LED shows a solid white activity indicator during video recording.
Stop recording a video
To stop an ongoing recording:
- Press the capture button once.
The video file is saved automatically when recording stops.
Video recording length
- By default, videos are recorded for 3 minutes.
- You can change the default recording duration in VIVE Connect.
- The maximum recording length for a single video is 10 minutes.
Tips for better indoor video quality
If you notice flickering when recording indoors under artificial lighting, enable Flicker reduction in VIVE Connect and use the Automatic setting or select the power frequency used in your region.
What happens if storage or battery is low?
If VIVE Eagle detects that available storage space or battery power is running low during a recording, it automatically:
- Notifies you of the condition.
- Stops the recording.
- Saves the recorded video.
Accessing your recorded videos
Videos recorded with VIVE Eagle are stored on the glasses until they are imported to VIVE Connect on your phone. You can then manage, save, or transfer the videos from the app.
