Customize the AI button on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses using the VIVE Connect companion app. Assign AI features, voice recording, or custom actions for faster access.
The AI button on VIVE Eagle can be customized to launch different AI features when you press it once or twice. You can assign built-in AI functions, create your own custom AI actions, or use an existing AI chat as a button shortcut. This lets you access the features you use most without needing to speak a voice command.
How AI button actions work
The AI button can be configured to perform different functions when pressed once or twice. One available option is Custom, which lets VIVE AI perform a custom action that you create or assign from an existing chat.
When multiple custom actions exist, you can choose which one is associated with the AI button.
Available AI button actions include:

| Wake VIVE AI | Opens VIVE AI for voice interaction. |
| Custom | Runs a custom AI action that you create. |
| Latest news | Provides a summary of current news relevant to your region. |
| Recipes | Suggests recipes based on ingredients you are looking at. |
| Voice recording | Starts a voice recording that can later be transcribed and summarized with VIVE AI Notes. |
| Landmarks | Identifies landmarks or structures and provides information about them. |
| Location reviews | Shows information, ratings, and reviews about a location. |
| Visual translation | Translates text you are viewing and reads a translated summary. |
| Artwork | Identifies artwork and provides additional information. |
| Animals | Identifies animals or insects. |
| Plants | Identifies plants, flowers, or fruits. |
| Scene | Describes the scene in front of you. |
| Read out loud | Reads visible text aloud using the current VIVE AI language. |
| Wake up your phone assistant | Activates your phone's assistant instead of VIVE AI. |
Change the AI button action
Before you begin, make sure your VIVE Eagle glasses are connected to the VIVE Connect app.
- Open VIVE Connect on your phone.
- Ensure your VIVE Eagle glasses are connected.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Press once or Press twice.
- Choose the action you want to assign.
- Save your changes.
You can also access the same settings through Settings > Gestures > AI button in VIVE Connect.
Tips for choosing AI button actions
Consider assigning frequently used features to the AI button for faster access:
- Use Visual translation when you often translate signs, menus, or documents.
- Use Voice recording to quickly capture meetings, conversations, or notes.
- Use Scene, Landmarks, Plants, or Animals when exploring unfamiliar environments.
- Use Wake VIVE AI if you prefer starting AI interactions with a button press instead of a wake word.
