Learn how to have VIVE AI announce caller names for incoming calls on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses using VIVE Connect and the required phone permissions.
When you're wearing VIVE Eagle, VIVE AI can announce the name of an incoming caller through the glasses if that person's contact information is saved on your phone. This feature requires the appropriate contact-related permissions to be granted to VIVE Connect.
How caller name announcements work
For incoming calls, VIVE AI can announce the caller's name when:
- The caller's contact information is saved on your phone.
- VIVE Connect has been granted the required permissions to access the necessary contact information.
- Your VIVE Eagle glasses are connected to your phone.
If the required permissions are not granted, caller names may not be announced.
Enable caller name announcements on Android
- Open your phone's Bluetooth settings.
- Find your VIVE Eagle glasses in the list of paired devices.
- Make sure VIVE Connect has permission to access:
- Contacts
- Call history
- If your glasses appear twice in the Bluetooth device list, enable these permissions for both entries.
Enable caller name announcements on iPhone
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap Bluetooth.
- Find your VIVE Eagle glasses in the list of devices.
- Tap the information button next to the glasses.
- Make sure Sync Contacts is turned on.
- Verify that the relevant items are selected.
