Learn how to manage contacts permissions for VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses in VIVE Connect so contact-based calling features can work correctly.

Contacts permissions allow VIVE Eagle to access contact information stored on your phone through the VIVE Connect app when using supported calling features. Without the required permissions, VIVE Eagle cannot access your phone contacts for contact-based calling functions.

Why contacts permissions are needed

VIVE Eagle can access your phone contacts only when you grant the required permissions to VIVE Connect. VIVE Connect uses these permissions to support calling-related features.

For example, VIVE AI can announce the name of an incoming caller when that caller's information is saved in your phone contacts and the required permissions have been granted.

Grant contacts permissions on Android

To enable contact-based calling features on Android:

  1. Open your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  2. Find your VIVE Eagle glasses in the list of connected devices.
  3. Verify that VIVE Connect has permission to access your contacts and call history.
  4. If your glasses appear twice in the device list, enable the permission for both entries.

Grant contacts permissions on iPhone

To enable contact-based calling features on iPhone:

  1. Open Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Find your VIVE Eagle glasses in the device list.
  3. Tap the information button next to the device.
  4. Make sure Sync Contacts is turned on and that the relevant items are selected.

Use caller name announcements

After contacts permissions are enabled, VIVE AI can announce the caller's name for incoming calls when the caller's contact information is saved on your phone.

If contacts are not available

If VIVE Eagle cannot access your contacts:

  • Verify that the required permissions have been granted to VIVE Connect.
  • Check your phone's Bluetooth settings for the paired VIVE Eagle device.
  • Confirm that your glasses are properly connected to VIVE Connect.
