Learn how to preserve photos and videos on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses before unpairing or pairing the device with a different phone to avoid losing important media.
If you plan to pair your VIVE Eagle with a different phone, or pair again after removing the current connection, make sure to preserve your media first. Starting a new pairing process automatically clears any data stored on the glasses. Importing and saving your media beforehand helps ensure that your photos and videos remain available after pairing again.
Why media preservation is important
Photos and videos captured with VIVE Eagle are initially stored on the glasses until they are imported through VIVE Connect. During pairing, VIVE Eagle may automatically clear stored data on the glasses. If important media has not been imported and preserved elsewhere, it may be lost.
VIVE Eagle retains media when it is simply disconnected or unpaired. However, if a new pairing process is initiated, stored media can be automatically cleared to protect user privacy.
Before you unpair or pair with another phone
Follow these recommendations before proceeding with pairing again:
- Connect your VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect.
- Import all photos and videos stored on the glasses into VIVE Connect.
- Review the imported media to confirm that everything you want to keep has been transferred successfully.
- Save copies of important photos and videos to your phone's photo library for additional protection.
Import media from VIVE Eagle
To transfer photos and videos from the glasses:
- Connect VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect.
- Open the media section in VIVE Connect.
- If media is available on the glasses, select Import.
- Wait for the transfer process to complete.
Imported media is stored in the VIVE Connect gallery according to your media import settings.
Save media to your phone
By default, imported photos and videos are stored in the VIVE Connect gallery. If VIVE Connect is uninstalled or its cache is cleared, media stored only within the app may be deleted.
To provide additional protection, save media to your phone's photo library:
- Open the media gallery in VIVE Connect.
- Select the photo or video you want to keep.
- Choose the option to save the file to your phone.
You can also enable Save a copy when importing so that future imports are automatically saved to your phone's photo library.
Switching to a new phone
If you are moving VIVE Eagle to a different phone:
- Import all photos and videos from the glasses to the current phone.
- If Save a copy when importing is enabled, verify that the media is already present in your phone's photo library.
- If you do not save media to your photo library, manually copy the imported files to the new phone before pairing again.
- After confirming that your media is preserved, unpair the glasses and complete the setup on the new phone.
Important
- Initializing a pairing process automatically clears stored data on VIVE Eagle. Always import important media before pairing with a different phone.
- Before unpairing, import any media that you want to keep.
- If another user starts pairing with the glasses, all stored media may be automatically removed to protect privacy.
- Saving a copy of your photos and videos to your phone's photo library provides an additional safeguard against accidental data loss.
