Learn how to troubleshoot power issues on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses, including charging checks, restart steps, status LED behavior, and recovery options.
If your VIVE Eagle won't turn on, the issue may be related to battery charge level, charging problems, or a system state that requires a restart or recovery procedure. This article walks through the recommended troubleshooting steps.
Check the charging status
Before troubleshooting further, make sure the glasses have sufficient battery power.
- Connect the charging cable to the charging connector on the glasses.
- Connect the USB-C end of the cable to a USB charger with an output of at least 4.5 watts.
- Allow the glasses to charge for several minutes.
Check the status LED
The status LED can help identify whether the problem is related to battery charge.
| Status LED behavior | Meaning |
| Blinks slowly and continuously red | The battery is too low to power on and is charging. |
| Solid pink | The glasses are charging while not being worn. |
| Solid white | The glasses are fully charged while not being worn. |
If the LED indicates that the battery is charging, allow additional time for charging and then try turning on the glasses again.
Turn on the glasses correctly
To turn on VIVE Eagle:
- Press and hold the AI button for approximately 2 seconds.
- Watch for the status LED to begin pulsing white, which indicates that the glasses are powering on.
If the glasses still do not turn on, continue with the steps below.
If the status LED is pulsing red
If the glasses will not turn on and the status LED is pulsing red, perform the following recovery procedure:
- If you are wearing the glasses, remove them.
- Press and hold the AI button for approximately 12 seconds until the pulsing red LED stops.
- Continue monitoring the status LED while holding the button.
Then:
- If the pulsing red LED stops, wait for the glasses to restart. The status LED should begin pulsing white after the restart.
- If the pulsing red LED does not stop, release the button and proceed to the next section.
Perform a factory reset recovery
If the pulsing red LED remains and the glasses still do not power on:
- Press the capture button five times in quick succession to initiate a factory reset.
- The recovery process is available on glasses running firmware version 1.13.999.3 or later.
Important: A factory reset removes data stored on the glasses.
