Troubleshoot charging problems on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses, including charging connection issues, low battery behavior, charging status LEDs, and supported charger requirements.
If your VIVE Eagle is not charging as expected, use the troubleshooting steps below to identify and resolve common charging issues.
Symptoms
You may be experiencing a charging problem if:
- The battery does not appear to charge after connecting the charger.
- The glasses do not power on because the battery is depleted.
- The status LED indicates a charging error.
- The charging indicator does not appear after connecting the charging cable.
Check the charger and cable
VIVE Eagle charges through the magnetic charging cable included with the device. Connect the USB-C end of the cable to a USB charger that provides at least 4.5 watts of output.
To verify the connection:
- Connect the USB-C end of the charging cable to a compatible USB charger.
- Attach the charging connector to the charging connector on the left temple of the glasses.
- Make sure the magnetic connector is securely attached. The charging connector is reversible and can be connected in either direction.
Check the status LED
The status LED provides information about the charging state of the glasses.
Charging normally
When charging:
- Solid pink: Charging while the glasses are not being worn.
- Pink fading in and then turning off: Charging while the glasses are being worn.
Fully charged
When charging is complete:
- Solid white: Fully charged while the glasses are not being worn.
- White fading in and then turning off: Fully charged while the glasses are being worn.
Battery too low
If the battery has become extremely depleted:
- Slow, continuous red blinking indicates the battery is too low to power on while charging. Leave the glasses connected to the charger and allow the battery to recover.
Charging error
If the status LED blinks red twice, it may indicate:
- Low battery, or
- A charging error.
If you see this behavior, disconnect and reconnect the charging cable and confirm that you are using a charger with sufficient power output.
If the glasses still do not charge
Try the following checks:
- Verify that the charging cable is firmly connected to both the USB charger and the glasses.
- Confirm that the USB charger is powered and provides at least 4.5 watts of output.
- Disconnect and reconnect the magnetic charging connector. Since the connector is reversible, either orientation can be used.
- Leave the glasses connected to the charger for a period of time if the battery is fully depleted and the LED is blinking red slowly.
