Learn how the built-in microphones on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses support VIVE AI voice commands, voice notes, meetings, and conversations.
VIVE Eagle includes multiple built-in microphones positioned around the glasses. The microphone system captures your voice when you interact with VIVE AI and records nearby speech when you use the voice recording feature.
Where the microphones are located
The microphones are integrated into the VIVE Eagle frame. Microphone openings are located at the bridge and temples of the glasses. Their placement allows the glasses to capture your voice while you are wearing them.
Avoid covering the microphone openings with your hands, hair, clothing, or accessories while speaking or recording.
What the microphone system is used for
The built-in microphones support the following VIVE Eagle functions:
- Waking VIVE AI: After voice recognition is set up, say the selected wake word, such as “Hey VIVE,” to activate VIVE AI and begin a voice interaction.
- Voice commands: Speak commands to take a photo, record a video, save information to Memory, translate visible text, read text aloud, or ask about something you are looking at. Some voice commands require VIVE Eagle to be connected to VIVE Connect and the paired phone to have internet access.
- Voice recordings: Use VIVE Eagle to record voice notes, face-to-face meetings, and conversations. Recordings can be managed through VIVE Connect and can be transcribed or summarized with VIVE AI Notes.
- Follow-up conversations: When Follow-up mode is enabled, VIVE AI can continue listening briefly after responding, allowing you to ask another question without repeating the wake word.
Using the microphones for voice commands
Wear VIVE Eagle normally and speak in a clear, natural voice. Say your configured wake word, wait for VIVE AI to begin listening, and then say your command.
The status LED blinks continuously in white while VIVE AI is listening.
Voice recognition is trained during initial setup. You can retrain VIVE AI from the Wake word settings in VIVE Connect if the glasses have difficulty recognizing your voice.
Getting clearer voice recordings
For better results when recording a voice note, meeting, or conversation:
- Wear the glasses and stay close to the source while recording.
- Speak loudly and clearly.
- Make sure the microphone openings are not covered.
- Reduce unnecessary background noise when possible.
VIVE Eagle must be worn and connected to VIVE Connect to use the voice recording feature.
Important: Before recording another person or a conversation, make sure you have any consent required by local laws and regulations.
If VIVE Eagle does not respond to your voice
Try the following:
- Check that VIVE Eagle is turned on and worn correctly.
- Make sure the microphone openings are not blocked.
- Confirm that VIVE Eagle is connected to VIVE Connect when the requested function requires a connection.
- Confirm that the paired phone has internet access for connected VIVE AI functions.
- Speak clearly and use a supported voice command.
- Retrain voice recognition in VIVE Connect under VIVE AI > Wake word.
- Restart the phone if voice commands are not working correctly.
