Learn how to use the AI button on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses to quickly run actions assigned to a single press or double press in VIVE Connect.
The AI button on VIVE Eagle provides quick access to VIVE AI and other assigned actions. You can press the button once or twice to run different actions, depending on how the button has been set up in VIVE Connect.
Where is the AI button?
The AI button is located on the left temple of your VIVE Eagle. The same button is also used to turn the glasses on and off.
Run an assigned action
- Put on and turn on your VIVE Eagle.
- Do one of the following:
- Press the AI button once to run the action assigned to Press once.
- Press the AI button twice to run the action assigned to Press twice.
- If the action uses VIVE AI, listen for the response and follow any spoken prompts.
A single press and a double press can be assigned different actions. The result therefore depends on the current AI button settings in VIVE Connect.
Actions you may be able to run
Depending on the button settings, pressing the AI button can:
- Wake VIVE AI.
- Run a custom VIVE AI action.
- Provide a regional news summary.
- Suggest recipes based on ingredients in view.
- Start or stop a voice recording.
- Identify landmarks, artwork, animals, plants, or scenes.
- Provide information and reviews about a location.
- Translate visible text.
- Read visible text aloud.
- Wake your phone’s assistant.
For visual actions, look directly at the text, object, place, or scene you want VIVE Eagle to process. Keep the subject within the camera’s field of view, use adequate lighting, and avoid a visually busy background when possible.
Before using an AI action
For most VIVE AI actions:
- Your VIVE Eagle must be connected to VIVE Connect.
- Your phone must have internet access.
- Required app permissions and phone-assistant settings must be enabled for actions that depend on your phone.
Using the AI button for voice recording
If Voice recording is assigned to a press:
- Press the AI button once or twice, according to the assigned button gesture, to begin recording.
- Press the same assigned gesture again to stop recording.
The first time you use voice recording, VIVE Connect may ask you to read the feature notice and acknowledge it before recording. You must be wearing your glasses, and the glasses must be connected to VIVE Connect.
When recording a conversation, speak clearly and keep the other speakers near your glasses. Follow applicable privacy, notification, and consent requirements before recording other people.
If the button runs an unexpected action
The AI button performs whichever action is currently assigned to its single-press or double-press gesture. If it runs an unexpected action, check the AI button settings in VIVE Connect and verify the assignments for Press once and Press twice.
