Take photos using voice commands on VIVE Eagle

Learn how to take photos with voice commands on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses using the built-in camera and VIVE AI assistant for hands-free photo capture while wearing the device.

You can use voice commands to take photos hands-free with VIVE Eagle. Simply say the wake word followed by a photo command, and VIVE Eagle captures an image using the built-in camera. This allows you to take photos without pressing any buttons on the glasses.

Before you begin

Make sure that:

  • You're wearing your VIVE Eagle smart glasses.
  • The capture LED is not covered. VIVE Eagle prevents photo capture when the capture LED is covered or when the glasses are not being worn.
  • Your glasses are powered on and ready to use.

Take a photo with your voice

  1. Say your configured wake word.
  2. After VIVE AI starts listening, say:
  3. "Take a photo"
  4. Wait for the photo to be captured.

You can also use:

  • "Take photo"
  • "Take a picture"

How voice photo capture works

VIVE Eagle supports photo capture through VIVE AI voice commands. After the wake word is detected, VIVE AI can capture a photo without requiring you to press the capture button.

You can ask VIVE AI to take a photo even when VIVE Eagle is disconnected from VIVE Connect.

Privacy protection during photo capture

To help protect the privacy of people around you:

  • Photos cannot be taken when the glasses are not being worn.
  • Photos cannot be taken if the capture LED is covered. The capture LED serves as a built-in privacy indicator that lets others know when you're using the glasses to take photos.

Confirm that a photo was captured

When a photo is successfully captured, the status LED blinks once.

Tips for better photos

For indoor photography, HTC recommends enabling Automatic flicker reduction in VIVE Connect to help prevent flicker caused by indoor lighting.

You can also enable Glasses movement warning in VIVE Connect to receive a warning when a recently captured photo may be blurry due to movement of the glasses when the photo was being taken.
