Identify landmarks with VIVE Eagle

Learn how to identify landmarks and notable structures with VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses using visual AI features and quick access through the AI button.

VIVE Eagle can identify landmarks and provide additional information about the landmark or structure you're looking at using its Visual AI capabilities. This feature helps you learn more about buildings, monuments, attractions, and other notable locations while wearing your smart glasses.

Before you begin

To use Visual AI features such as landmark identification:

  • Make sure VIVE Eagle is connected to the VIVE Connect app.
  • Make sure your phone is connected to the internet.
  • Wear your glasses normally and ensure the subject is visible to the camera.

For best results, the landmark should:

  • Be within the camera's field of view.
  • Have adequate lighting.
  • Be clearly visible with a clear background.

Identify a landmark using the AI button

You can assign Landmarks as an AI button action for quick access.

  1. Connect VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect.
  2. Open the AI button settings in VIVE Connect.
  3. Choose Press once or Press twice.
  4. Select Landmarks as the assigned action.
  5. Look at the landmark or structure you want to identify.
  6. Press the configured AI button gesture. VIVE AI identifies the landmark and provides more information about what you're viewing.

Identify a landmark using voice commands

You can also ask VIVE AI about a location you're viewing.

  1. Look directly at the landmark or structure.
  2. Activate VIVE AI using the wake word.
  3. Ask a question such as:
    • "What is this?"
    • "Describe the area."

VIVE AI analyzes what you're looking at and provides information about the subject or surrounding area.

Tips for better recognition

If VIVE AI cannot recognize a landmark or returns limited information:

  • Move closer to the landmark if possible.
  • Make sure the structure is centered in your view.
  • Avoid obstructing the landmark with other objects.
  • Use the feature in well-lit conditions.
  • Ensure your VIVE Eagle and VIVE Connect connection is active and your phone has internet access.

Why landmark identification may not work

Landmark identification may not work as expected if:

  • VIVE Eagle is not connected to VIVE Connect.
  • Your phone does not have an active internet connection.
  • The landmark is outside the camera's field of view.
  • Lighting conditions are poor or the background has too many other objects for reliable visual analysis.
