Configure automatic backup on VIVE Eagle

Learn how to configure automatic cloud backups for VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses using the VIVE Connect companion app, so your VIVE AI chats and memos are backed up regularly and can be restored when needed.

Automatic backup helps protect your VIVE AI data by regularly saving it to your cloud storage account. With automatic backup enabled, VIVE Connect can back up your VIVE AI chats, including your questions and memos, so that you can restore them later if needed.

Before you start

Before configuring automatic backup, make sure cloud backup has been set up in VIVE Connect.

Android

  1. Sign in to your Google Drive account on your phone.
  2. In VIVE Connect, tap Backup and restore.
  3. Select your Google account.
  4. Review the notice and continue through the setup process.

Android users can also choose to back up data only when connected to Wi-Fi. To enable this option, go to Advanced settings and turn on Back up using Wi-Fi.

iPhone

If you use an iPhone, sign in to your iCloud account and make sure iCloud Drive syncing is enabled. No additional cloud account configuration is required in VIVE Connect.

Set up automatic backup

After cloud backup is configured, choose how often VIVE Connect automatically backs up your VIVE AI data.

  1. Launch VIVE Connect on your phone.
  2. Go to Settings > Backup and restore.
  3. Tap Backup frequency.
  4. Select the backup frequency you want to use.

Once configured, VIVE Connect automatically performs backups according to the selected schedule. You can modify the automatic backup schedule at any time.

Important information

  • Cloud backup and restore is intended for VIVE AI data such as chats and memos.
  • Photos and videos are not backed up through the cloud backup feature. To preserve media captured with VIVE Eagle, import your photos and videos through VIVE Connect and manage them separately.
  • If you plan to switch to a new phone, it is recommended to back up your VIVE AI data before moving to the new device. You should also import your photos and videos from VIVE Eagle so you do not lose important content.
