Learn how to manually back up VIVE AI chats, questions, and memos on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses using the VIVE Connect companion app and cloud storage.
Manual backups let you save your VIVE AI data to your connected cloud storage account so that it can be restored later if needed. On VIVE Eagle, manual backups include your VIVE AI chats, questions, and memos.
Before you begin
Before performing a manual backup:
- Make sure your cloud backup has been set up in VIVE Connect.
- Android users need to sign in to a Google Drive account and configure backup settings in VIVE Connect before using cloud backups.
- iPhone users using iCloud Drive only need to be signed in to their iCloud account with syncing enabled.
Perform a manual backup
- Open VIVE Connect on your phone.
- Go to Settings > Backup and restore.
- Next to Manual backup, tap Back up now.
VIVE Connect will back up your supported VIVE AI data to your configured cloud storage account.
Important information
- Cloud backup and restore is intended for VIVE AI data such as chats and memos.
- Photos and videos are not backed up through the cloud backup feature. To preserve media captured with VIVE Eagle, import your photos and videos through VIVE Connect and manage them separately.
- If you plan to switch to a new phone, it is recommended to back up your VIVE AI data before moving to the new device. You should also import your photos and videos from VIVE Eagle so you do not lose important content.
