Learn how to troubleshoot Wi-Fi errors that occur when importing photos and videos from VIVE Eagle AI glasses to the VIVE Connect app on your Android phone.
If you receive a Wi-Fi error while importing photos or videos from VIVE Eagle to the VIVE Connect app, the issue is commonly related to Android location services, wireless scanning settings, or app permissions. These settings are required for VIVE Connect to establish the wireless connection used during media transfers.
Symptoms
You may encounter this issue if:
- Media import fails to start.
- A Wi-Fi error message appears when importing photos or videos.
- VIVE Connect cannot complete the transfer even though your glasses appear connected.
- Photos and videos remain on your VIVE Eagle after an attempted import.
Why this happens
Some Android phone models may not correctly synchronize connectivity settings and permissions during the initial setup process. As a result, VIVE Connect may not be able to establish the connection required to transfer media from VIVE Eagle.
Before you begin
Verify the following:
- Your VIVE Eagle is powered on.
- Your VIVE Eagle is connected to the VIVE Connect app.
- Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- You are using the latest version of VIVE Connect if available.
Solution 1: Enable required location services
- On your Android phone, open Settings.
- Go to Location > Location services.
- Turn on the following settings:
- Location Accuracy
- Wi-Fi scanning
- Bluetooth scanning
- If any of these settings are already enabled, turn them off and then turn them back on.
Solution 2: Verify VIVE Connect location permissions
On Android:
- On your Android phone, open Settings.
- Go to Location > App location permissions.
- Select VIVE Connect.
- Choose Allow all the time.
- If Allow all the time is already selected, choose Don't allow, then select Allow all the time again.
On iPhone:
- On your iPhone, open Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security > Location Services.
- Select VIVE Connect.
- Choose Always.
- If Always is already selected, choose Never, then select Always again.
Solution 3: Refresh location services
- On your phone, go to Settings.
- Disable the main Location or Location services setting.
- Enable the main Location or Location services setting again.
- Return to VIVE Connect and try importing your media again.
If the issue continues
If media import still fails after updating the location and permission settings:
- Confirm that VIVE Eagle is connected to VIVE Connect.
- Restart both your phone and VIVE Eagle.
- Reopen VIVE Connect and attempt the import again. Restarting the glasses may help resolve temporary connection issues.
