Learn how to troubleshoot video recordings that stop unexpectedly on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses and identify common causes such as recording limits, low battery, or insufficient storage.
If a video recording on your VIVE Eagle stops before you expect it to, the issue is often related to recording limits, battery level, available storage, or device conditions. This article explains the most common causes and how to prevent recordings from ending unexpectedly.
Check the video recording duration setting
By default, videos recorded with VIVE Eagle are limited to three minutes. You can change the recording duration in VIVE Connect if you need longer recordings.
VIVE Eagle also has a maximum video recording length of ten minutes. After reaching the configured recording duration or the maximum supported recording length, the recording will stop automatically.
To review the video duration setting:
- Connect VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect.
- In VIVE Connect, go to Settings > Media.
- Select Video duration.
- Choose the desired recording length.
Check the battery level
If VIVE Eagle detects that the battery is becoming critically low during a recording, it automatically stops and saves the current video. This helps prevent the recording from being lost.
If recordings stop unexpectedly:
- Charge VIVE Eagle before starting long recordings.
- Check for low-battery indications on the device.
- Avoid starting lengthy recordings when battery capacity is limited.
Check available storage space
VIVE Eagle includes 32 GB of internal storage for photos and videos. When the device detects that storage space is running low, it automatically stops and saves the current video recording.
To free up space:
- Import photos and videos to your phone using VIVE Connect.
- Delete media you no longer need.
- Regularly transfer media from the glasses to prevent storage from filling up.
Make sure the glasses remain properly worn
For privacy protection, VIVE Eagle requires the glasses to be worn when recording videos. Recording cannot continue if the device detects conditions that prevent normal video capture. The device also requires the capture LED to function correctly during video recording.
When recording:
- Make sure the glasses are worn correctly.
- Do not cover or obstruct the capture LED.
- Avoid handling the device in ways that could interfere with normal recording operation.
Check for overheating warnings
VIVE Eagle displays a system error indication when overheating is detected. Excessive heat may affect device operation and can interrupt normal functionality.
If the glasses become unusually warm:
- Stop recording.
- Allow the device to cool in a well-ventilated area.
- Resume recording after normal operating conditions return.
Restart VIVE Eagle
If recordings continue to stop unexpectedly and battery and storage are not the cause, restart the device.
- Turn off VIVE Eagle by pressing and holding the AI button for five seconds.
- Turn it back on by pressing and holding the AI button for two seconds.
You can also restart the glasses from VIVE Connect while connected.
