Learn how to resolve storage capacity issues on VIVE Eagle AI smart glasses and manage media storage to keep photos, videos, and recordings available when you need them.
If your VIVE Eagle is running low on storage space, you may be unable to capture new photos, record videos, or save additional content. VIVE Eagle stores photos and videos locally on the glasses until you import them to your phone through the VIVE Connect app. Regularly transferring and managing media helps ensure that storage remains available for new content.
Symptoms of low storage space
You may be experiencing a storage capacity issue if:
- You cannot take new photos.
- You cannot start a new video recording.
- Media-related features stop working as expected.
- VIVE Eagle notifies you that available storage is running low.
- A video recording stops automatically before completion due to insufficient storage.
Why this happens
VIVE Eagle includes 32 GB of internal storage for photos and videos captured with the device. Media remains stored on the glasses until you import it to your phone. As you continue capturing content, available storage gradually decreases.
Import media to free up storage
The most effective way to free storage space is to import your photos and videos to your phone using VIVE Connect.
- Connect VIVE Eagle to VIVE Connect.
- Open VIVE Connect on your phone.
- Go to the media section.
- Import your photos and videos from the glasses to your phone.
Successfully imported media will be displayed in the VIVE Connect media gallery and removed from VIVE Eagle to recover storage space.
Prevent future storage problems
To avoid running out of storage:
- Import photos and videos regularly.
- Review and delete media you no longer need.
- Save important content to your phone's photo library.
- Enable automatic saving of imported media to your phone if desired.
- Check available storage before long recording sessions or extended trips.
What happens if storage fills up during recording?
If VIVE Eagle detects that storage space is nearly exhausted while recording a video, it automatically notifies you, stops the recording, and saves the video that was captured up to that point. This helps prevent the loss of recorded content.
Important notes
- Photos and videos are initially stored on VIVE Eagle before being imported to your phone.
- Media remains on the glasses when they are disconnected or unpaired from a phone. Media can still be recovered if paired to the same phone using the same VIVE Connect app and HTC account again.
- If another user starts a new pairing process with the device, stored media is automatically cleared to protect privacy. Import any important content before pairing VIVE Eagle with a different phone.
- HTC recommends importing media regularly to ensure sufficient free space is always available on VIVE Eagle.
