After pairing your VIVE Eagle and signing in to your HTC account, the onboarding tutorial helps you learn the essential features, controls, permissions, and AI experiences available on your smart glasses. Completing the tutorial ensures that VIVE Eagle is properly configured and ready to provide the best possible experience.
Before you begin
Make sure that:
- Your VIVE Eagle is paired with the VIVE Connect app.
- You have signed in with an HTC account.
- Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- You are wearing your VIVE Eagle when prompted during setup.

Complete the onboarding tutorial
1. Learn the device controls
During setup, VIVE Connect displays an introduction to the hardware components of VIVE Eagle. Follow the onscreen guidance to become familiar with important controls and hardware locations, including:
- AI button
- Camera
- Capture button
- Touchpad
- Charging connector
2. Personalize your AI experience
After pairing is complete and you put on your glasses, you'll be prompted to choose the name that VIVE AI uses when interacting with you.
- On the Hi, [username] screen, tap Change name.
- Enter the name you want VIVE AI to use.
- Tap Save.
- Listen to the pronunciation preview.
- Tap Yes to confirm.
3. Train VIVE AI voice recognition
Voice training allows you to activate VIVE AI using the wake word without pressing any buttons.
- Tap Next when prompted.
- Follow the onscreen instructions.
- Speak clearly during the voice training process.
- Complete all requested prompts.
After training is complete, you can activate VIVE AI by saying**"Hey VIVE."**
4. Review privacy information
Before continuing, review the privacy information presented during setup.
- Read the Privacy Policy screen.
- Tap Got it to continue.
5. Grant required permissions
VIVE Eagle and VIVE Connect require certain permissions to support AI features, connectivity, and device functionality.
- Review the requested permissions.
- Tap Grant, then tap Next.
- Approve the requested permissions on your phone when prompted.
Some features may not function correctly if the required permissions are denied.
6. Start the tutorials
After permissions are granted:
- On the Tutorials screen, tap Start.
- Follow the guided walkthroughs to explore available features.
The tutorial introduces capabilities such as:
- Voice interactions with VIVE AI
- Photos and video capture
- Visual AI experiences
- Memory and memo features
- AI-powered assistance and personalization
Skip a tutorial
If you want to move through setup more quickly:
- Tap Skip in the upper-right corner during a tutorial.
- The current tutorial section will be skipped.
You can continue using VIVE Eagle even if some tutorial sections are skipped.
Finish setup
At the end of onboarding, you may be offered the option to anonymously share AI queries to help improve future experiences.
Choose your preferred option and continue to complete setup. Once finished, your VIVE Eagle is ready to use.
